About Charli Hamilton
If you stand on your feet all day or can’t remember the last time your neck didn’t ache - we’re a good match. My work is aimed at getting you back to form to enjoy all that you do.
Charli Hamilton is the owner and sole practitioner of Chidori Massage & Movement. In Japanese, chidori (千鳥) can mean both plover (a tiny seaside bird) and 1000 birds, a combination conveying both peace and strength. In her massage practice Charli aims to bring calm and relief while restoring bodies to their natural strengths and abilities. She draws regularly on her enthusiasm for health and athletics to influence her continually evolving practice with a focus on medical-based bodywork and rejuvenation.

Charli grew up on Bainbridge Island, just across the water from Seattle, Washington. Her love for athletics and the outdoors began when she was young, running cross country through the winding trails around Gazzam Lake. She studied visual art and Japan Studies at the University of Washington and later graduated from the Discovery Point School of Massage on Capitol Hill. She’s lived in Vienna (briefly), Osaka (less briefly), and Seattle (not briefly). She keeps a happily active schedule, enjoys traveling whenever she can, and is always trying to learn more about the world around her.
One of her earliest jobs was at a small restaurant in her hometown. Since that beginning as a hostess, she bounced around and up the restaurant ladder, spending time as a dishwasher, chef, server, bartender, bookkeeper, and GM. After two decades of watching friends and coworkers pile aches upon injuries (and sustaining several herself), it occurred to her that someone needed to serve the servers. She went back to school for massage, and as a result began her work largely on her restaurant family—chefs, bartenders, and servers—which eventually morphed into helping all those who enjoy pushing their bodies to the limits — runners, rock climbers, gym gurus, and yogis.
